Several Xi Beta Theta Taus who are graduating at the same time have decided to form a senior project team. We have purchased a 1978 Chevy Nova with the intentions of building it into a Drag Car. We are all working on several aspects of the car. Such aspects include building a roll cage, doing a custom suspension, and overhauling an engine. Chevy has been gracious enough to donate an LS7 Corvette engine to us which was a huge help. The engine will be Dyno tested, tuned, and broken in on a Dyno. We also had Autodesk donate Inventor 2009 to us in order to design a CAD model of the roll cage, body, and suspension system. We will be building the car to NHRA specs so that when the project is completed we will be able to actually take the car out and race it to see what it can do. All in all this is shaping up to be quite the senior project.
